HOT AIR BALLOONING

The operating company has been been offering one hour long flights over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River, West of Hoedspruit since 2003.

The terrain is a mixture of farmland and private nature reserves at the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment. Although it is not a “big 5” safari flight, this location has proven to be the most popular in the Hoedspruit area and in the Lowveld, for that matter. The Escarpment forms an amphitheater at this location, providing safe shelter from the prevailing winds. More than 10 000 passengers have now enjoyed scenic flights here.

Departure from the lodge in summer is at 4am and during winter at 5.30am. Arrival back at the Lodge after you flight.

Includes: Hot Air Balloon ride and return transfers from and to Sausage Tree, professional tour guide and transfers in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle.
